Volunteers are always appreciated! Volunteers can assist with dog walking, fundraising, and pet adoptions. We also need volunteers to foster animals. All volunteers must be at least 13 years old.

Amazing Aussies is a non-profit organization consisting solely of volunteers. We are in URGENT need of your help in fostering. We have a need for fosters for adult dogs as well as puppies. Please visit our Web site to complete a Foster/Volunteer application.
Come meet a volunteer and learn all about fostering. Experience the joy of baby kittens by rescuing a momma cat and fostering her and the babies until they are adopted. Foster parents provide food, litter, a comfortable setting, while Fairy Tails Rescue provides approved vet care.
We rely on our volunteers to enhance the care the animals receive in our Animal Care Centers. Please consider joining the Animal Care & Control volunteer team to provide the much needed tender loving care to the animals. Our volunteers give us the extra dimension we need to care for and serve our animals. Our volunteers assist with the following plus with many of our programs mentioned under our Donation section.
They help with all aspects of our operations, including our foster program. This program allows the volunteer to take animals into their own homes until they can be adopted. For reasons of age or health, this program allows more animals to have a second chance at adoption. Volunteers for this program must attend the special foster orientation session, and be at least 18 years of age. All animals remain the property of Animal Control Services until adopted. The kennel assistance program is for hands-on volunteers. Cleaning cages, feeding animals, and washing dishes are just some of the jobs the volunteers assist our kennel staff with in the daily routine of animal care. Bathing and adoption assistance is very important. With advanced training volunteers assist the public in the selection of the perfect dog or cat. Care is given to the various aspects of selecting the right animal for the right home. Volunteers show animals to prospective adopters in the get acquainted areas and answer questions on proper animal care.
Community Education is very important. Education relating to responsible pet ownership, prevention of animal bites, the importance of vaccination and licensing, as well as spay or neuter programs is very important to our community. Volunteers assist Animal Care and Control staff with presentations at schools, service clubs, safety fairs, and various community sponsored events. Whether preparing educational materials (stuffing folders and goodie bags), or assisting with an off-site function, this rewarding program is for volunteers interested in talking animal care and safety.
As with any organization, clerical assistance is never ending. Animal Care and Control's business offices, licensing department, and education volunteer department are always looking for clerical and/or telephone assistance. Whether filing, answering telephones, preparing kennel information cards, assisting someone in finding their animal or giving directions to one of our shelters for an adoption, these volunteers are especially welcome and appreciated!
